The things that are close to us, are the things you can photograph the best, and unless you photograph what you love, you are not going to make good art.
-Sally Mann
When you photograph the things you love, the viewer sees these things through your eyes, and in turn is able to feel what you feel. This self-portrait series revisits my other life as a professional musician. Music is what I love. It was my first love, and for a long time, it was my only love.
Here, I play the role of an erratus tractare, or straying musician. My photography literally blurs the edges of my former life and whether or not it really is former or merely bridged to this new medium of art I find myself working in.
