I chose to mimic Eadweard Muybridges studies of motion in Animal Locomotion. My interest in Muybridge came from my performance in The Photographer, a chamber opera by composer, Phillip Glass. The script detailed the photographers life , his impact on the medium, and the grueling story about his wifes affair that led him to commit murder. I wanted to pay homage to the man that fueled his art through the ghosts of his past and created the images that haunt my mind.
