Animal Locomotion
I chose to mimic Eadweard Muybridge’s studies of motion in Animal Locomotion. My interest in Muybridge came from my performance in “The Photographer”, a chamber opera by composer, Phillip Glass. The script detailed the photographer’s life , his impact on the medium, and
the grueling story about his wife’s affair that led him to commit murder. I wanted to pay homage to the man that fueled his art through the ghosts of his past and created the images that haunt my mind.
